Christian Safeguarding Services
We’ve been delivering Safeguarding training to churches and faith-based organisations since 2012. We are driven by a passion to help churches develop best practice in safeguarding children, young people and adults without it costing a fortune for churches.
Using our knowledge and expertise from both working in Local Government and our involvement with our Local Safeguarding Children’s Board, we can support churches and organisations in delivering their safeguarding requirements.
Christian Safeguarding Services support churches and faith-based organisations with policy development, bespoke training and consultancy services. We have a support and advice line and an answerphone service.

Paul is a teaching Elder at Grace Church Loughborough. Both he and Sue have been involved at Grace Church since its foundation in 2009 and have been actively involved in church life for over 40 years; both developing areas of ministry, whilst raising their family of four children. Paul’s passion is for theology, the application of Biblical principles to life, the exposition of scripture and has a pastoral heart for the church and those he serves. Working part time at Grace Church he is supported by Sue, who is involved with the music ministry and hospitality.
Moving from engineering into statutory services in 2003 and having been a trustee of a local charity for some time, Paul moved into a Health Authority coordinating services for families who have children with life-limiting conditions. He pioneered the Early Support programme in Leicestershire as well as working in other Local Authorities managing various projects and early intervention services for children and families.
Establishing and managing Sure Start Children’s Centre Programme of 7 Children’s Centres and managing a team of over 20 staff and multi-agency partners, Paul was the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the programme and involved with escalation of cases needing statutory intervention. More recently, he worked with LADO responsibility in the Safeguarding Unit of a Local Authority, managing and dealing with allegations and concerns about school staff and staff within other organisations. Paul is a preferred provider for Safeguarding Training for Leicestershire County Council to all their Early years Settings.
After raising their children, Sue returned to the workforce in 2003 in the role of a Family Support Worker. Sue was the lead in a Parent & Carers Council, setting up a network of parent support groups around the county in partnership with other agencies. In 2007 Sue became a voluntary sector lead for the Sure Start Children Centre programme then moving into Leicestershire County Council’s Learning & Development Service as a multi and single agency Safeguarding Trainer. Now managing a Children & Family Services Learning and Development Team, Sue is responsible for the safeguarding training and continual professional development of all staff in the Social Care & Early Help workforce.
Sue is a qualified and accredited Mental Health First Aider and Mental Health First Aid Instructor for both Adults and Youth.
We recently delivered a seminar for FIEC at their leaders’ conference.
