One of the challenges that many churches face is knowing whether they are meeting their legal duties and whether their systems and processes are sufficiently robust.
We are making our audit tool available to members with any level of membership (including free membership). The audit tool enables you to consider all aspects that may be of relevance for you.
Before you download the tool, we would like to explain a few things:
Firstly, the tool is not intended to be a training tool. This is the tool that we would use to conduct an audit of safeguarding. We are making it available as we believe this may be useful to churches and other Faith Based Organisations. If you require training, we do run “Safe and Sound” seminars around the country (please see our Regional Training Events page for details).
Secondly, it is important that the tool is used in a proportionate way. It is not intended to imply that every church or Faith Based Organisation needs everything outlined in the audit tool. The aim is to provide a series of prompts but the individual organisation will need to assess whether a particular element is required. We are, of course, more than happy to discuss specific queries that you may have. Please call us or drop us an e-mail. We recommend that you start by mapping out all of the activities that you engage in.
Finally, you can use the document is whatever way is most suitable for your needs. You may choose to complete all or some of the sections, or alternatively, you may choose to simply think through the various elements. We have provided it in Word format. The only thing that we ask is that you retain the brand identity and acknowledge the source.
